Paul Kavanagh

Paul is the founder of Grand Cru Direct, combining decades of software engineering experience with deep wine expertise to help collectors find iconic bottles at exceptional prices. A Certified Sommelier and former Chief Technology Officer at K&L Wine Merchants, Paul previously led a global team of 1,500 engineers as Senior Vice President of Engineering at SAP SuccessFactors, responsible for $2B in annual revenue. He applies his tech background and sommelier training to create exceptional value for Grand Cru Direct clients. Paul also served as a Research Contributor to The Wine Bible 3rd edition by Karen MacNeil (Workman Publishing), one of the most influential wine books in print today.

Calvin Webster

As Wine Club Buyer and Manager at Grand Cru Direct, Calvin curates thoughtful, dynamic selections that define the club’s identity while ensuring members receive wines of exceptional quality and character. He works closely with producers and importers to source distinctive bottles, balancing discovery with trusted classics. Based in Nashville, TN, Calvin came to wine by way of a canceled tour during his former life as a touring bassist, finding himself in Western Europe amid the world’s greatest vineyards. With over a decade of fine wine experience and a WSET Diploma, he brings both deep knowledge and a sharp palate to his role. Outside of Grand Cru Direct, Calvin enjoys hiking with his wife and kids and continues his studies toward the Master of Wine exam.
